Journey Mito Style..

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

Whatever you do, you need courage. Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising that tempt you to believe your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires some of the same courage that a soldier needs. Peace has its victories, but it takes brave men and women to win them.
Ralph Waldo Emerson

When I chat with Mito Mom's we have a number of things in common.

1) We have all suffered loneliness. This journey with our children is so individual, so personally tailored, in the moment we often forget that we are all on the same journey.

2)It is terrifying. We all have been raised to believe and trust medical science- to trust facts. Faith in God and spirituality is a very different thing then faith in medicine. I often question medical facts- justifiably, because what was a medical fact yesterday, is through science proven untrue today. The unknown is scary. Not knowing what comes next, not knowing if they will stabilize, or get better, or worse.. that fear we all have in common.

3)We all love our children, and only want the very best.

5)Every single journey is very unique. There is no right or wrong way.

Some days I am not sure if we are just crazy, or stubborn or maybe it is courage. But as I read about everyone's Mito journeys, and really any life journey- I am pleased to see we are not only one's who are willing to cut out a new path as we go.

Don't get me wrong, if the well worn main path is one that works for us, I am very happy to take it. Why make it harder then it needs to be? But if the well worn path won't take us where we need to go, all four of us will start cutting a new path.

I may not see you on our path, but I can hear you close by as you and your loved ones are cutting your new path too!
